Me And My Cat

Under moonlight I sat
With my loving old cat
In a low habitat
To hear crickets chit-chat.

With the moon in full light
In the hush of this night
I caught glimpses so slight
Of an angel in flight.

As my cat gave a mew
He then came into view
As he nestled in dew
Only seen by us two.

Scintillating the pond
With a touch of his wand
Every cattail and frond
Murmured tunes from beyond.

Crickets sang in the air
With harmonious flair
Adding touch debonair
To this lonely old pair.

In this sound of good cheer
That's so sweet to the ear
Aids to bring my heart near
To the ones I hold dear.

Be exceedingly glad
When your heart's low and sad
For the ones that are clad
With his fur to his pad.

With a patter of paws
Sweet attention he draws
And he never sees flaws
He just loves you, because.

Now I love my old cat
Who has shared habitat
In my lonely old flat
And I think he knows that.

When he knew I was blue
He then shared with me, too
His own angel in view
Only seen by us two.
