Grandma's Attic

I'd love to see your attic
Where your sentiments are stored;
The trinkets and the potporries
Of days you once adored.
It gives me such a pleasure
Just to contemplate the cord
That bound the years,
Those loving years
To rest in sweet accord.

Oh, Grandma, I adore you
'Cause you're sweet and gently kind.
I thought if I would look within
Your attic there I'd find
The secret or the magic tool
That you had silver lined
That helps you be so loving
Understanding and so kind.

But there I found a life with strife
Just as my very own;
A life with many struggles
And with heartaches of her own.
No magic here, or lining there,
But wisdom clearly shown
For she had chose to love her God
And let His Love be sown.
